Briana Boatner
Briana Boatner is a University of West Georgia alumni and received her Master's degree from Walden University in 2021. This summer she began working towards her Specialist degree in instructional technology from the University of West Georgia. This upcoming school year will be her fourth year teaching and she is excited to continue at Brighten Academy! She was born and raised in the small town of Cedartown, Georgia where she recently bought her first home! She loves spending time with her family and friends and seeing new places! She is so overjoyed to be on the Second-Grade team! She looks forward to a fantastic year!

Jessica Sorrell
Jessica Sorrell will be beginning her eighth year of teaching second grade at Brighten Academy. She also coaches the girl’s soccer team. She earned her Bachelors Degree from the University of West Georgia (Go Wolves)! She was born and raised in Douglasville, where she currently lives now. She also has a sister who attended Brighten Academy! Jessica is a huge animal lover and has 2 dogs, Remy and Moose, and 7 chickens. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys reading, watching Netflix, camping in the mountains, and spending time with her husband and family. Jessica is in love with second grade and is looking forward to an amazing year at Brighten Academy!

Terry Pino
Terry Pino is beginning her seventh year at Brighten Academy and her twentieth year of teaching. Terry earned her Bachelor's degree from FIU, her Master's degree from NSU, and her Specialist degree at UWG. She is from Miami, FL, and moved to Douglasville in 2006 with her husband Sebastian. They have two daughters, Laura and Sara, and a three-year-old dog named Bailey. Mrs. Pino is proud to be part of the Brighten family and are looking forward to another exciting year!

Jennifer Petty
Jennifer Petty has been teaching for 21 years. This will be her third year teaching at Brighten Academy. She is excited to come to work every day. You never know what the day will hold with Second Graders. She has lived in Douglas County her whole life, attending Winston Elementary, Fairplay Middle School, and Alexander High School. She is proud to teach in the same county that she grew up in. Teaching, along with learning are her passions. Ms. Petty has a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, a Master's in Curriculum Instruction, and a Specialist in Curriculum Instruction in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Petty has a 26-year-old son named Hayden. He is a graduate of Georgia State University. He majored in English with a minor in film. He has a passion for making, writing, and directing movies. She hopes to be his date to the Oscars one day. As a teacher, Ms. Petty is here to teach, motivate, encourage, and most of all love all the little people that come through the doors of Brighten Academy. It is going to be a great year!

Kiana Wilson
Kiana Wilson is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, and moved to Atlanta to attend college. This upcoming school year will be her 6th year at Brighten and her 3rd year as the second-grade paraprofessional. Mrs. Wilson is happy to assist the 2nd grade students and parents in any way that she can.
